Prevent nosy people from opening apps

Oops! AppLock is a free utility tool that makes use of volume keys instead of a password or PIN to keep your apps safe from prying eyes. At first glance, it looks like a typical notepad; however, after entering your volume key pattern, you can lock, unlock, or customize an app’s lock background with just a few taps.

If you’re going for the customization route, you can avoid potential quality issues by making sure your chosen image’s size is the same as that of your device’s screen size. Unfortunately, frequent crashes make users lose interest in Oops! AppLock.

Pretends to be a notepad

Once Oops! AppLock is installed, its name would be changed to K Note, masquerading it as a note-taking program to deter nosy individuals from accessing your banking apps, gallery, games, and many more. To get started, you first need to create a key pattern by pressing the volume up and down buttons on your device. Then, reenter the pattern to confirm your volume key code.

Afterwards, select a security question and type your answer in the text box. This serves as an extra authentication factor if you don’t remember your key pattern. After granting permissions, the program will become a note-taking app, and you need to enter said pattern to access unlocked apps in Applock. Locking a program is easy, just tap the lock icon on the right side of the screen.

It is also in “Applock” where you can select your preferred background, namely Black,Custom, or Transparent. Choosing Black or Transparent fools an individual into thinking that the app is not working. The Custom option is more fun since you can display a photo of a ghost to scare the living daylights out of your nosy friends and relatives. However, there are instances when the app lock is not working.

A unique addition to the market

All in all, Oops! AppLock is a must for anyone who deals with nosy people on a frequent basis. As it mimics the appearance of a notepad, no one would think of it as an app lock program. Further, the usage of volume keys instead of passwords makes the app stand out from the rest. However, it’s not entirely perfect due to frequent crashes.

Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.
